The friendly face of technology

I've been fortunate to work with some of the best development teams in the software industry and watch them grow to this amazing future we're living in right now. In fact, it was a little over 20 years ago I excitedly took my first steps into the IT industry, so I've seen quite an evolution to where we are today.

Technical Prowess

It's the deep technical prowess of these innovative people that drives our mobile-enabled, touch screen fully integrated and seamless connection with the world we take for granted.

Taken for granted not because we belittle their achievements (indeed what they do with code and agile practices is quite frankly it's astonishing) but often the uber-techy shy away from the limelight, preferring instead to leave that to more gregarious folk.

But gregarious folk can often miss the meaning behind the tech; just look at the failures of Betamax, perhaps one of the best documented failings of bad messaging and good technology.

People People

So we need a friendly face of technology, that connects people and technology effectively, using clear and authentic messaging, with technical expertise plus an unending dedication to communicating effectively.

That's where the role of the technology evangelist fits in rather neatly; using technical expertise gained through many years of working at the IT coalface, explaining these complex concepts to all levels of audience is where this important role shines.

Over the years I've worked with many businesses large and small, in almost every sector of industry and conversed at every level of the organisation. The guy configures the backup systems has very different requirements to the CTO who wants to understand how she can reduce risk and drive revenue through adopting new technologies. But they're both important and valued members of their organisation, and deserve to understand the technology and what it means for them.

The friendly face

I truly care about helping businesses succeed in this ever changing-world, and the best way I know how is to remain true to my roots and experience, and be that honest guide

So as I forge ahead crafting and championing the technology messaging for Sage X3, Sage People and Sage Intacct here's the new friendly face of our technology platforms, unified, authentic and here to help.
